Men's Coach

Aaron Zimmer is a seasoned vet with many years of playing experience under his belt, in and out of our local roster. Aaron has been playing for 27 years spanning across 4 decades and is the recipient of many awards through out his career. After wrapping up his tour with the Canada Classics in Boston, Zimmer returns to start practice with the Crusaders Men's division for the 23/24 season. 

Aaron Zimmer's stats include:

-Debuted in 1996 for Chilliwack Crusaders rugby club

- 2 years of Valley Venom winning 2 national titles in the super league

- 1 year Premiums for Brit-lions

- participated with BC selects against touring sides.

- 1 year with SFU winning MVP and scoring over 350 points

- Played 1st division for Kelowna

- Selected for Canada classics 2021,2022,2023

- Coached Chilliwack to a 12-3 record in 2022/23 making it to the Semi-finals

Women's Coach

Mike Weisse has been a key figure in our clubs success and standing within the community. With years of experience as a Player, Club President, as well as other positions within our Executive board, the Crusaders are proud to announce the return of coach Mike Wiess for our Ladies 2023/24 season! Mike is no stranger to leading teams to championships as he done so as a player and Coach in Minor Football and Rugby. He brings a unique skill set to the table being conversant across multiple platforms of contact sports!

-NCCP Football coach since 2005 for Chilliwack Giants and Valley Huskers

-Held positions of Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coach, Linebackers Coach

-Won 7 League championships, 2 Provincial championships in 2009 and 2016

-Two years as Border Bowl All-star Linebacker coach

-Played for Chilliwack Rugby as Prop and Hooker since 2008

-Part of 2008 Saratoga Cup Championship Team

-Current Executive Member, held positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Fundraiser, Social Coordinator, Youth Coordinator

-Entering third season as Women's Rugby Coach

Mike pushes for individual and team growth. His investment into the program and club speaks volume to his commitment to see this team succeed!

Youth Head Coach

Derek Neudorf is an old school prop, starting his playing career with the Rick Hansen  Hurricanes highschool team, and then moving into the men's senior division with Abbotsford Rugby Club. 

After spending most of his youth in baseball and football, Derek found his true calling after playing his first game of rugby. During his early career, he quickly climbed to the coveted MVP title on his team, earning him a spot to play for the BCRU's first u16 division. 

With his drive and promise, he was quickly sponsored and sent on tours to Austrailia and New Zealand, where he brought home new skills and conditioning to further his clubs success. Derek found a new home with the Chilliwack Crusaders after moving here in 2015, and since last year has taken his position coaching our youth head-on. 

With his playing experience, as well as being a father to his own young rugby player, Derek is able to guide our kids with strength, determination, and heart. Moving into the 23/24 season, he hopes to continue building on our successes and growing our club to include u14 and u16 divisions.
